Dr. Monica Jain is Coordinator for Biosciences (Undergraduate Programme) and is working with Maharaja Ranjit Singh College of Professional Sciences since 2003. She is heading the Department of Life Sciences since 2006 and is actively involved in students all round development. She has eleven years of undergraduate and nine years of post graduate teaching experience in subjects related to Life sciences. She has also served as visiting faculty for School of Life Sciences, Devi Ahilya Vishwa Vidyalaya, Indore.
Dr. Jain was awarded with Doctoral degree in 2010, her work entitled “Regeneration and effect of spectral quality and UV light on morphogenesis and production of secondary metabolites in Bacopa monniera”. In her post graduation she secured first position in merit list and was awarded with Gangrade award for securing highest percentage in Botany.
Dr. Jain is appointed as mentor for the prestigious Inspire Award Scheme launched by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt of India. She is also a Life time fellow member of International Society of Biotechnology and International Science Congress Association.
Dr. Jain is Principal Investigator of the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology, Bhopal funded major research project. She has various National/International publications and conference presentations to her credit. Her students received Best Research Poster award under “Secondary metabolites, Drug development and plant tissue culture theme ” in XXXIII PTCA(I)Annual meet and Symposium at Loyola Centre for Research and Development and St. Xaviers College, Ahmedabad. She has guided various research projects and dissertations.
She has organised and mentored MPCST sponsored workshop “Plant tissue culture- Lab practices made easy” for teachers from various colleges and “Science Mantra” for students from various schools.
She is a member of anti ragging committee and organising member of Annual function and various cultural activities.
